I have been involved in Special Education advocacy and mediation for over forty years. I recently retired from spending twenty years as the Independent Child Advocate (Ombudsperson) for the Sonoma County SELPA. I have been an instructor in the Special Education Department at San Francisco State University for twenty-five years and previously worked for the California Department of Education Compliance Department, United Cerebral Palsy Association, and Community Alliance for Special Education. I have been a frequent presenter for the State of California Statewide Dispute Resolution Conference, CADRE and LRP. I am passionate about parents and districts working collaboratively and cooperatively together while meeting the needs of student’s with unique learning challenges.
